LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has identified the officers involved in the shooting of a suspected carjacker Saturday in the 5300 block of Boulder Highway.
Officers David M. Denton, 35, has been employed with the LVMPD since June 2001. Officer Theodore Richard Snodgrass III, 25, has been employed with Meetro since October 2008.
The officers are assigned to the LVMPD Patrol Division, Southeast Area Command and have been placed on routine paid administrative leave.
Metro Sgt. John Sheahan reported that police received a call about 9:40 p.m. that a man was attempting to hijack a car by shooting into a vehicle at the Town & Country Manor III apartments.
A man was in the car as the suspect fired a gun. Several Metro officers responded quickly and confronted and shot the suspect. He was taken to Sunrise Hospital. Neither police nor the man in the vehicle were injured.
