LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – Metro police are looking for the driver of a blue pickup truck who struck a 75-year-old woman Thursday night on North Pecos Road at Cecile Avenue and left the scene.
Witnesses tell the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department that at 6:03 p.m., the truck was turning right onto northbound Pecos from a posted stop sign at westbound Cecile. The woman was walking southbound on the east sidewalk of Pecos road. She then crossed Cecile in the unmarked crosswalk and was struck by the truck.
The woman, identified as Maria Herrera of Las Vegas, was forced to the ground and was transported to UMC Trauma by ambulance for critical injuries.
The blue pickup truck drove away from the scene without stopping. The collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Accident Investigation Section.
