This project illustrates the huge price tag of graffiti vandalism. We now have to spend $20 billion a year recovering from crimes of graffiti vandalism throughout the USA. You don't have to be a graffiti expert to see how much people dislike graffiti vandalism. Just look at the other comments to this news report. People just hate graffiti crime. Although prompt removal is important in controlling graffiti, and creative enforcement action with meaningful penalties against graffiti criminals is also needed, how can we prevent graffiti in the first place? We can invest a little on preventative education as advocated at www.DefacingAmerica.com. Graffiti is promoted to kids at school, on the internet and even with product advertisements. We need to foster attitudes among kids before they become engaged in graffiti crime. We need to help kids see and understand that graffiti is not harmless self expression, freedom of speech or art. Graffiti hurts people, devalues neighborhoods and pulls the kids doing graffiti into a bad direction. The thrill of doing graffiti can become highly addictive to the people doing it. Law enforcement officials have come to recognize graffiti vandalism as a gateway crime. The same disregard for private and community property often leads to trespass and burglary. As discussed at www.restoringouramerica.org , graffiti can lead to a life long addiction.

Instead of spending all this money for graffiti abatement, why not do something that does some good. Arrest these punks and start cutting off fingers and hands with full broadcast on all news agencies! Within a year, Graffiti will be next to nothing!
