LAS VEGAS -- - Clark County School District on Feb. 20  held a ceremonial ribbon cutting to welcome staff and students to the new John F. Miller School, which serves a population of students with disabilities and those who rely on specialized medical attention.

The new school was built with wider doorways to accommodate students in wheelchairs and “teaching walls” in each classroom to provide adequate power to support computers and other assistive technology devices students use to communicate and access instructional materials.

The school’s state-of-the-art health office is imperative to the well-being of the students it serves and has been nominated for a national design award.

The school was built using bond funds approved by voters in 1998.
