LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- Metro police are in the cross hairs of criticism once again after a weekend shooting. News 3's Reed Cowan obtained photos of three of the five officers who fired on 49-year-old Sharmel Edwards.

We're not only getting our first look at most of the officers on administrative leave, we're also getting our hands on new video taken at the scene of the shooting now part of evidence.

News 3 has obtained cell phone video taken by a woman who watched the entire 30 minute standoff and shooting. When it was over, Sharmel Edwards lay dead in a parking lot.

News 3 has confirmed the video was requested by police from the woman who shot it and is now a part of evidence.

In the video, you can clearly hear police telling Edwards, "not going to hurt you" and to "please cooperate with what we are saying."

But seconds later, gunfire erupts. Police saying Edwards -- who worked as a behavioral therapist with children -- had a gun.

Witnesses telling news three it was a cell phone and police didn't need to kill the woman.

Doesnt matter who she was or what she had in her hand. Metro can do no wrong. A coroner's inquest or whatever fact finding procedure they use now will clear the officers of any wrong doing.

She was a children's behavioral therapist??? Who in hell gave her a license (if she even had one)? She should have been in therapy herself. The first rule if you are stopped by a Law Enforcement Officer is to NOT resist and follow the officer's instructions. All the crybabies that complain and rail out at Metro for defending themselves should know if you don't follow the officer's request you suffer the consequences. Anything in your hands could be construed as a weapon, so if you're told to "drop it", you better do so.
