LAS VEGAS -- A motorcycle driver was killed and a passenger was critically injured early Sunday in a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 15 near Charleston Boulevard.
Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Jeremie Elliott said the accident happened shortly before 3 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the I-15 when the SUV hit a median after colliding with a car. The motorcycle then hit the SUV.
The motorcycle driver died at the scene and the passenger was taken to UMC Trauma in critical condition.
Nobody else was injured, Elliott said.
The Clark County coroner's office will identify the name of the motorcycle driver and the official cause of death after relatives have been notified.
Two lanes of the southbound freeway were opened by 8 a.m.
