LAS VEGAS (Las Vegas Sun & News3) -- One man died and another woman was injured Monday in a garage fire near Paradise and Warm Springs roads, the Clark County Fire Department reported.

The fire was reported about 12:30 p.m. at a house in the 7000 block Abbeyville Drive, Capt. John Steinbeck said. The occupants had evacuated the home before firefighters arrived and both were transported to a local hospital.

Fire crews entered the garage through the house and also by cutting away the roll up garage door. The fire was extinguished and confined to the garage.

An elderly male and female both required medical treatment and were transported to St. Rose Sienna. Unfortunately, the male patient was pronounced dead at the hospital. The cause of his death is under investigation.

The fire was contained in the garage and caused about $40,000 damage, Steinbeck said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
