PAHRUMP (KSNV & MyNews3) –A 35-year-old woman has been arrested today in connection with the murder of a Pahrump man on Wednesday, according to the Nye County Sheriff’s Office.
Sylvia Castillo, 35, of Pahrump was arrested today, her suspected co-conspirators Peter Helfrich was arrested Friday, according to officers.
Castillo is being held at the Nye County Detention Center on charges of accessory to murder and destroying and concealing evidence of a crime, officers said. Her bail is set at $100,000.
Once caught by authorities Castillo told detectives she knew Helfrich had killed the man and subsequently assisted him in driving the deceased man’s body several miles east into Wheeler Canyon, according to the Nye County Sheriff's Office.
Officers said Helfrich and Castillo then disposed of the man’s remains.
The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family, officers said.
