LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- There is more misery for people trapped in the typhoon-ravaged Philippines after an earthquake hit overnight and a tropical storm rolled in.

The latest events bring even more worry and concern to the Las Vegas Filipino community.

There are missionaries from across the U.S. in the Philippines right now, and the Mormon Church is confirming all American missionaries there are safe.

Bernardina Damiles, who lives in Las Vegas, has been desperate to talk to her daughter after the latest earthquake.

Another daughter of Damiles learned through social media that her loves ones were all right.

Many in the Philippines have turned to such sites as Facebook and Twitter when talking by phone was not possible.
