Police confirm 20-year-old woman has been found safe

LAS VEGAS -- [UPDATE] Metro Police confirms that Brenna Schmidwebster, a 20-year-old woman who went missing from her Las Vegas residence around 10 p.m. on Friday has been found and is safe.

Schmidwebster's roommate just confirmed that Police called them because they found her and she is “alive and well,” but in a hospital.

Schmidwebster was located today by police officers in Los Angeles, Calif. Her apparent voluntary disappearance spawned numerous media inquiries as to her safety and whereabouts.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of Schmidwebster’s disappearance. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department would like to thank our media partners for their invaluable assistance in matters such as these.

It's been nearly a week since family, friends, and co-workers saw a 20-year-old Las Vegas woman.

Her roommate says she texted her she was at work Saturday but later they found out she never showed up and they haven't heard from her since. News 3's Elizabeth Donatelli joins us with what we know so far.

Schmidwebster grew-up in Las Vegas but isn't in contact with her relatives.

Metro Police have been searching for a 20-year-old woman who went missing from her Las Vegas residence around 10 p.m. on Friday.

Officials said Schmidwebster was last seen at her home near St. Rose Parkway and Gilespie Street before she disappeared. Officials said she is a 5-foot-7, 140-pound white female with blond hair and blue eyes.

She may be driving a 1992 red Ford Ranger with Nevada license plate 861-YAU, officials said.
