LAS VEGAS -- Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson has called upon County Manager Don Burnette to move forward with a Police Fatality Public Fact-finding Review for the Dec. 12, 2011, shooting death of Stanley Gibson.
The County Manager subsequently appointed former District Court judge and former district attorney Stewart Bell to be the presiding officer.
The review will be held at 9 a.m. Feb. 28 in the County Commission Chambers at the Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway, in downtown Las Vegas.
Other local police-involved deaths expected to go through the Police Fatality Public Fact-finding Review process include: Ronald Morrison (Oct. 29 shooting involving Metro); Daniel Hathorne (Nov. 2 shooting involving Metro); and Justin Hoey (Nov. 7 shooting involving the Henderson Police Department).
All of the Police Fatality Public Fact-finding Reviews will be shown live on Clark County Television (CCTV), which is available in the Las Vegas area on Channel 4 on Cox cable (Channel 89.13 for those without converter boxes) and on CenturyLink as well as in Laughlin on Channel 14 via CMA Access, and via the County website at
www.ClarkCountyNV.gov.
The reviews also will be archived on the County website.
