LAS VEGAS -- Authorities on Wednesday arrested Samuel Powers on charges of first degree arson and burglary of a Las Vegas autism center.

The Clark County Fire Department on Monday responded to a fire alarm call in a building at 7055 Windy St.

Units arrived to find audible and visual alarms going off. Crews did not see smoke and flames initially so they investigated the perimeter of the building and discovered water coming out of the southwest corner of the unit.

Sprinkler heads had extinguished the fire prior to CCFD's arrival. Upon further examination inside the building, fire personnel noticed multiple locations where the fire had been started and evidence of Molotov cocktail devices having been used.

Damage to the building was approximately $50,000.

After Fire investigators conducted a thorough investigation, police had a suspect and arrested Samuel Powers for first degree arson and burglary.
