LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- The Clark County School District board of school trustees will meet Wednesday to discuss the overcrowding problem at southwest valley elementary schools.

Around 200 people attended a meeting Monday night to hear what options there are to address the issue.

The School District relied on voters for funding on the November ballot through a property tax increase. That measure did not pass.

A spokesperson says it would have funded building two new schools and now the school board will have to turn to other options.

Those options include moving programs to different schools, building portable campuses or additional portable classrooms as a temporary fix, or converting schools to a year-round schedule.

Re-zoning is also on the table, but Trustee Carolyn Edwards says that would create a domino effect, relieving 200 seats at one school could mean moving a thousand students in other area schools.
