I believe that many of these accidents are a result of left foot braking. You be surprised at the number of drivers and police officers that use a left foot to brake. When you use your left foot to brake, you do not have the same strength or reaction to brake in the case of an emergency. Left foot braking also means that your right foot is still on the accelerator and when trying to brake you will press down using both feet which will result in needing more distance to brake and in most case will void the braking process all together. The other factor, vehicle are following too close, just so an accident today where the vehicle was following too close and rear ended the vehicle in a 25MPH zone, there is not way that should happen at those speeds. METRO, NHP and other law enforcement agencies should pick one day a month were they hand out traffic tickets for the basic stuff, like, following too close, speeding over 10MPH, unsafe lane change, failure to use turn signals. There is one thing that all drivers hate to do, and that is pay a hefty fine for a traffic citation.

I came here from detroit also. Maybe if people had to take drivers training they would of learned to drive. The first thing they did in drivers training in detroit was take you on the john lodge freeway during 5am rush hour!!!! Even a short class with a movie at the dmv explaining other drivers rights or what lane your'e supposed to turn into. Everyone is in a hurry and everyone has that attitude, it's all about me. You can turn your'e turning signal on for a quarter mile and no one will let you in. You have to make your'e own way, then they blow thier horn like you cut them off and flip you off. I'd love to stop and shove that finger where the sun doesn't shine. Especially some of these rich wenches who think they own the road because thier husband provided them with a 80 thousand dollar car. They think they can use it for a battering ram, especially in a super market parking lot!!!! They swing thier door open and hit your'e car. Quess what!!!!! Some of us are still making payments on our cars and we don't want them all dinged up because we have a little pride in our vehicles, someone doen't give us one!!!!!!!Then you have the illegals with false ID and no insurance. Try getting your vehicle fixed right away when one of these guys hit you!! You get a 100 calls from your'e insurance company wanting an explanation of what happened almost everyday!!!!! They also have a habit of driving real slow where ever they are because they don't want to get pulled over because of thier immigration status or they have warrants or no drivers license!!!! Las vegas is the worse, especially these california transplants who come here and think they can drive!!! Get a gps people, quit driving with your'e head up your'e but because you don't know where your'e going. Nothing worse than having someone in front of you slowing down at every building looking for an address!! And how about you cops pulling people over for driving 45 on the freeway, example, the fast lane!!!!

I just moved back to Vegas after 5 years being away. I cannot believe how bad the drivers here have become. I think it has become this bad for two reasons. Cellphone talking and texting for one. Even with the law against it. Look around and you see people on their phones and texting everyday. Second, we are becoming more and more of a culture of disrespect to others. Watch the drivers on the road and they act as the laws do not apply to them. I have never seen so many people run red lights and stop signs in my entire life. A lady in Summerlin ran a stop sign and then flipped me off as if it was her right and I was the one to blame. Plus one last thing. Why are there so many people walking in the streets and so many not using the cross walks. Sorry, they are asking to get hit. Again. laws do not apply to me is the mentally of many in the valley. I come from Detroit and the nightly news was always how many people wee murdered today. Well in Vegas it is how many people were killed by a car or truck today. So sad........
