LAS VEGAS — This is the 29th annual National Travel and Tourism Week. The Las Vegas region definitely knows the economic impact tourism has with about 370,000 jobs and $40 billion in business every year.
This week, with the help of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, we are honoring the people who make our tourism industry work — the Hospitality Heroes.
Today we pay tribute to Maria Reveles, "The Cal" cocktail server.
Former Mayor Oscar Goodman along with his trademark showgirls make the surprise presentation to tonight's Hospitality Hero.
Reveles is a cocktail server at the California Hotel and Casino and is surprised to be presented the award from the former Mayor. After a quick joke, he presents her with her LVCVA Hospitality Hero award.
"I love our customers. It is very important to give good service because they keep coming back every year and I have been here almost 28 years," Reveles said.
Hotel management tells us it's Revels' genuine smile, work ethic and bubbly personality that make her a Hospitality Hero.
