LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- Many people are hitting the stores again the day after Christmas, this time to take back those gifts that didn't work out too well.
This is a big day for returns and exchanges.
Not all Christmas gifts will be just right, so here are some tips from the National Retail Federation if you have some gifts to return.
Review the store's return policies. Some require receipts, and you should make sure you have the original packaging.
If you received a gift card you won't use, you can return them for cash. Websites such as giftexchangeday.com will let you sell them back for a fee.
Organize your receipts.
Try to return gifts to the store. Also, some stores such as Target and Walmart accept merchandise returns for items bought online.
If you're missing some receipts, you can call your credit card company. Some of them offer extended return protection and other options.
Returning something is never fun, but it's certainly more bearable when you're exchanging it for something you like more.
