LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- An attempted armored car robbery was foiled early Saturday morning in the northeast part of the valley.

Metro Lt. Mike Wallace said the robbery attempt occurred about 2 a.m. on North Nellis Boulevard at a 7-11 store.

Wallace said the would-be robber fired at a Loomis guard and hit the truck instead. The guard fired back at the suspect, but missed. The suspect, described only as a black man, fled and is being sought by Metro.
