LAS VEGAS – The
Nevada Department of Transportation will implement a rolling closure for the sidewalk on the O’Callaghan-Tillman Memorial Bridge (Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge) from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, Jan. 15 to Jan. 18.
The closure is part of a routine safety bridge inspection, which is completed on a biennial basis.
The inspection will begin on the Arizona side of the bridge, prompting the closure of the Arizona side of the sidewalk.
During this time, the Nevada portion of the sidewalk – or roughly half of the sidewalk – will remain open.
As the inspection moves to the Nevada side of the bridge, the entire sidewalk will close.
The entire sidewalk will be open for public use during off-project hours.
In addition, lane restrictions coming into and leaving Nevada will be in place for the duration of the project. Traffic control devices and personnel will be in place for the duration of the project; motorists are advised to heed them.
