NEW YORK (AP) -- New York's airports are letting some flights land after digging out from under nearly a foot of snow, while Boston's Logan Airport remains closed.

Logan says it expects to open one runway by 11 p.m.

At McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, flights to and from New York, Newark and Boston have been canceled for most of today, The website mccarran.com shows a Delta flight to JFK with a 7:17 p.m. departure as a go as well as a 10:55 p.m. United flight to Newark.

Across the region, flights are expected to be back on close to normal schedules on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Amtrak says the New York-Boston train route will remain closed today as crews clear tracks of snow and fallen trees. Trains are running south from New York, and between New York and Albany.

Airports in the Northeast shut down Friday afternoon as the big blizzard blew in. The storm brought more than 2 feet of snow in some parts of New England and left more than 650,000 homes and businesses without power at its peak.

Flight-tracking website FlightAware says airlines canceled 5,368 flights because of the storm.

All air travelers are encouraged to check the status of their flights on a regular basis for potential delays or cancellations.
