LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- St. Joseph Catholic School will close for good June 7, according to a letter sent to parents Friday.
The school at 1300 Bridger Ave. served kindergarten through eighth-grade students.
“This decision was the result of a painstaking, months-long review of enrollment numbers, financial capability as well as plant and facility needs,” said the letter from Administrator Fr. Dave Casaleggio and Principal James Machinski.
Declining enrollment numbers also were cited.
The school, part of the St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church Parish, suggested in the letter that alternative schools in the diocese, particularly St. Christopher and St. Anne, will try to accommodate the students.
The principals of both schools will be on campus today and Wednesday in the School Library to assist with any transfers.
