LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- The Nevada State Education Association arrived at the Clark County Registrar today with a petition and a plan to get more money for public schools.

The group had more than 100,000 signatures backing its proposal. The petition deadline was today.

The plan would raise about $800 million through a tax on businesses earning more than $1 million in revenue.

The group has received resistance from a pro-business PAC called the Committee to Protect Nevada Jobs.

Last month the Nevada Supreme Court ruled the petition's language was misleading and incomplete, necessitating the re-submission.

If lawmakers don't approve the measure, it goes in front of the voters in 2014.

this sounds like lining the unions pockets, not helping the students!

The language has not changed, this tax initiative is for teachers pay hikes and benefits, it has nothing to do with improving our educational system. Unions, destroy businesses, jobs and moral fiber of America.
