NORTH LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – A man has been arrested in connection with several home invasions involving victims older than 60.
Davon Xavier Lyons, 19, was booked Thursday on 23 felony charges in connection with three home invasions that occurred from Feb. 11 through March 15, according to a North Las Vegas Police Department news release.
There were five victims involved ranging from 73 to 85 years old.
The five-week investigation indicates that Lyons, operating with an accomplice, allegedly followed elderly victims into their open garage. The two suspects held the victims at gunpoint and forced them into their homes. One suspect reportedly watched the victims while the other ransacked their homes, stealing jewelry, electronics, money and other items.
In one case, the suspects cut the phone lines in the home to prevent the victims from calling 9-1-1.
Lyons was arrested in his North Las Vegas apartment where police also recovered stolen property, two stolen firearms, marijuana, and items used to package marijuana for sale.
Lyons was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
Detectives are working to apprehend the second suspect in this investigation.
