LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- A local teenager accused of bringing an assault rifle to a school one week after the Newtown, Conn., shooting tragedy agreed to plead guilty to a gross misdemeanor charge.
Jake Howell, 18, who had faced four charges in the Dec. 21 incident at Northwest Career and Technical Academy, waived his right to a preliminary hearing this morning at the Regional Justice Center. He will return to court Jan. 22 for sentencing.
Officers said they found an unloaded assault rifle and ammunition inside Howell's car on the NCTA campus.
