NORTH LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – Three people suffered injuries this morning in a house fire near East Cheyenne Avenue and North Civic Center Drive.
According to a North Las Vegas Fire Department release, firefighters arrived at the home in the 1600 block of Harewood Avenue at 5:56 a.m.
The first two firefighters on scene met a male patient in the doorway of the home. The patient reported having two other residents still in the house. The firefighters entered the home and rescued a disabled elderly patient from the fire. The other patient was able to evacuate the home before the Fire Department arrived.
There were a total of three residents in the affected home: two women in their 50s and 70s and one man in his mid-50s. All of the residents were transported to UMC Trauma Burn Unit.
The man and elder woman were reported to be in critical condition, and the other woman was in stable condition at the time of transport. The home sustained significant smoke damage along with fire damage and is uninhabitable at this time.
This was a single-alarm fire with 13 units and 34 firefighters and personnel responding from North Las Vegas, City of Las Vegas, and Clark County Fire departments.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the house of origin, and extinguish the fire within five minutes of arrival. There were no other reports of injuries to firefighters or bystanders.
Three rooms in the home suffered significant damage with damage estimates at approximately $92,500. The fire remains under investigation.
