SHANGHAI, China -- Two trade deals have been reached by Gov. Brian Sandoval's team that is visiting China to explore commerce and relations with nations in the Far East.

In a joint venture initially valued at $500,000, Las Vegas-based Tate Snyder Kimsey Architects signed a two-year contract with Shenzhen Investment Holdings Co. for the design of the Shenzhen Bay Technology and Ecological city, a business campus in the Chinese industrial center near Hong Kong.

The other deal is for Reno-based confectioner Kimmie Candy to distribute candy in the Chinese market for the first time.

Both deals were announced Saturday afternoon by Sandoval's office.

Leaders of both companies are part of the Nevada business delegation for the trade mission, which was organized by the Governor's Office of Economic Development.

The trade mission to China and South Korea is the state's first Far East trade mission in nearly 30 years.

In another agreement announced Friday, Dr. Stephan Wells, president of DRI, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Chinese Academy of Science's Institute of Earth Environment (IEECAS) to collaborate on a broad range of atmospheric research.

Yea, okay. Whatever. This is not the news I expect to hear from our Governor, as our city has lots of unemployed people fighting to get a job to support family. Let's get going on job creation here in our city before we have more people end up being homeless. I am so sick of few jobs for 1000's of people. I am also so sick of employers relying on temp agencies to do the hiring. They always lie. "Oh, it is a temporary position, but it will be a permanent job later on." They lie, all because they want people to work under them.
