LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – Two adults were rescued this morning from an apartment fire on Hacienda near Decatur Boulevard.
According to a Clark County Fire Department release, firefighters responded at 2:30 a.m. to a fire at the Conejo Villas Apartments in the 5000 block of West Hacienda Avenue. Upon arrival, heavy smoke and flames were showing near the front entrance of a second-floor apartment. The occupants, a husband and wife, were trapped in a back bedroom
Arriving firefighters of Engine 21 attacked the fire at the entrance of the apartment, while the engine's captain and engineer used a ladder to help rescue the adult occupants through the bedroom window.
The occupants had dropped two children to a neighbor below the window before firefighters arrived.
Firefighters were able to knock down the fire quickly and keep it from extending to other apartment units. The cause of the fire was determined to be combustibles stored too close to a water heater on the patio of the apartment.
