LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- More than 3,000 students will have a new title starting today: college graduates.
UNLV will conduct its winter commencement ceremony this afternoon.
This morning it was all about mike checks, run-throughs and making sure all the name cards were ready.
Sarah Trabia, a mechanical engineering grad and Daniel Lowe, a nuclear mechanical engineering graduate, will be honored as outstanding students during the ceremony.
Trabia talked about her desire to find work here and help young engineers in training through robotics programs like first.
“If I were to get a job here in Vegas, I'd do my best to stay in the community and volunteer with first and just show the students should stay here at UNLV,” she said. “And there's no reason to leave and spend so much money.”
The students graduating range in age from 18 to 75.
