LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- A vehicle and driver are being sought today by law enforcement officers today after a 1 a.m. crash on Interstate 15 killed a North Las Vegas man.
The Nevada Highway Patrol reports that a white passenger car may have caused an accident at 12:55 a.m. today on I-15 just south of Charleston Boulevard that killed 20-year-old Jesus Hernandez of North Las Vegas.
NHP said the white car continued southbound on I-15 after the accident. Anybody with information is asked to call NHP's major accident investigation team at (702) 432-5219.
The preliminary investigation said a red 1993 two-door Honda Civic driven by Hernandez was going southbound on I-15 in the center travel lane when it steered left. Hernandez then over corrected and the Civic rotated clockwise onto the west paved shoulder when the front of the civic stuck the west barrier wall.
Hernandez, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
