LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- The Walmart in which the shooters made their last stand reopened Monday evening with additional security presence and crisis counseling for employees.
Even though it looked like a normal business day, as people walked through the store it was hard not to hear conversations among employees about the horrific acts that unfolded on Sunday.
The wounds are still fresh, but healing has begun.
This neighborhood store is now also a memorial for Joseph Wilcox, the 31-year-old who decided to stay behind to confront Jerad Miller. He tried to stop the shooters as employees evacuated the building and customers fled to safety.
It was a decision that ultimately cost him his life. Wilcox was shot and killed by Amanda Miller, before she killed her husband Jerad and herself.
Customers said that even though they won't be broken down by something so senseless, they will honor the lives taken too soon.
