LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- A 22-year-old Las Vegas woman was killed early Sunday morning when she was hit by a vehicle while standing near an accident scene.
"A Toyota Scion SUV and a Nissan Xterra SUV had a minor accident while northbound on Interstate 15 near Charleston about 3:40 a.m.," Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Loy Hixson said. "They both got out of their vehicles to check the damage, but a Honda with a male driver apparently hit some debris and lost control and hit her."
The woman died at the scene, Hixson said. Three people were taken to the hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
"Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the first accident," Hixson said.
Several northbound lanes of I-15 were restricted or closed until 9 a.m. during the investigation, Hixson said.
The name of the victim will be released by the Clark County coroner's office after relatives have been notified.
