LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- The search continues for a new Clark County School District superintendent today.
The District Board is meeting again this morning to discuss the process to replace Dwight Jones, among other agenda items.
The goal is to have the new superintendent in place between October and December.
In the last meeting, representatives of teachers, school administrators and members of the public had a chance to voice their opinions on how they think the board should make the decision.
The board voted to begin negotiations with search firm McPherson and Jacobson -- the same firm that found Jones.
Today's meeting will focus on the firm and its contract with the district.
Some of the requirements include finding at least four finalists, and if the board is not satisfied with any of those options, the contract says the firm must start the search over for free.
The firm also will be required to attend some of the public meetings to get public input and, if for any reason the new superintendent does not stay for at least two years, the firm would have to start another search at no cost to the district.
