LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – Six people were displaced this morning after a fire destroyed their home near Cimarron and Alexander roads in unincorporated Clark County.
According to a Las Vegas Fire & Rescue news release, calls came in at 1:15 a.m. for a house fire in the 4100 block of North Tomsik Street. On arrival, firefighters found a one-story wood frame house heavily involved with fire.
Southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph were fanning the flames and intensifying the fire. Firefighters also were hampered because of limited water in the area.
The roof caved in shortly after firefighters arrived. It took about 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.
The two adults and four small children were asleep when the fire started; they escaped without injury. American Red Cross volunteers are assisting.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Clark County Fire Department.
There were no injuries during the incident.
