LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – Six adults and three children were displaced this morning after a fire this morning at an apartment complex near Flamingo and Valley View.
According to a news release from the Clark County Fire Department, officials received multiple 911 calls just after 4:45 a.m. reporting a fire at Rancho Del Sol apartments in the 4200 block of West Rochelle. The initial information reported to 911 was that this fire was related to an active domestic disturbance.
Clark County and Las Vegas crews arrived to find heavy fire coming from Apt. 2098 in building 17. Building 17 is a 16-unit, two-story building.
At the time of the fire department's arrival, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police had controlled the domestic disturbance situation. Medical crews assessed one of the occupants for smoke inhalation, but the occupant was not transported to a hospital.
The fire was declared knocked down at 5:03 a.m.
The fire did not extend beyond the apartment of origin. Several adjoining apartments suffered varying degrees of smoke damage, and Apt. 1098 on the first floor had water damage.
There were no firefighter injuries. Damage was estimated at $75,000. The American Red Cross assisted those that were displaced.
