LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- It's an admittedly bold approach to education reform.

James Guthrie, who recently resigned as the Nevada superintendent of public instruction, is promoting the idea of paying high performing teachers $200,000 a year through the Conservative Nevada Police Research Center.

Both the Clark County School District and the state teacher's union like the idea of paying teachers more, but say this is unrealistic.

The author of the report says it won't cost a dime more.
