LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – Patrons welcomed the reopening this morning of The Egg and I Restaurant, 4533 W. Sahara Ave., which was the scene of a horrific accident April 1.
The restaurant owners said during the closure they finished some renovations as well as fixed what was shattered from the crash.
They also added large boulders around the patio area for extra protection.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a 1993 Lexus driven by Gage Lindsey, 18, was traveling westbound on Sahara Avenue, west of Arville Street, when it entered a left-turn lane and struck the median head on just after 12:30 p.m.
The Lexus traveled over the median, struck another median, and entered the eastbound travel lanes. The Lexus began sliding sideways and was struck by a Mitsubishi Galant and then a Ford F-150.
The Lexus struck the south curb, a wall around the patio and then drove into the restaurant.
Ten people were injured that day.
