LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- Some neighbors are protesting the speed limit at a crosswalk where a 78-year-old woman in a wheelchair was killed Thursday.

Protesters aren't blaming drivers as much as the speed limit.

In 2002, Las Vegas raised the speed limit at Martin Luther King and Lake Mead from 35 mph to 45, citing a study showing most drivers were going 45 anyway.

City officials said they'll start a new study of the area after the death of Elizabeth Maze. That will take a few weeks to complete.
