Pedestrian killed in fatal accident was a poker dealer

LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified the the pedestrian killed in an auto accident as 86-year-old Richard Turnbull.

Turnbull was a resident of Reno and a World Series of Poker dealer.

The cause and manner of death have not been determined. Turnbull was killed after being hit by a car late Thursday night on Rainbow Boulevard near Spring Valley Parkway.

Police say Turnbull was wearing dark clothing when he attempted to cross the street around 9:30 p.m. He was hit by a 30-year-old man driving a 1996 Honda.

Officers say the driver was not impaired and simply couldn't see the man crossing the street.

Turnbull died at University Medical Center.

This is the 46th traffic death for Metro this year so far, which is less than last year at this time.
