Suspect in hit-and-run sought after child struck in Laughlin

LAUGHLIN (KSNV MyNews3.com) – Metro is asking for the public’s help in locating a driver suspected of leaving the scene of an accident involving a 5-year-old.

According to a news release, Metro’s Laughlin resident officers were sent around 7 p.m. Monday to the area of Needles Highway and Cal Edison Drive to investigate reports of a child struck by a vehicle.

Arriving officers located the child, and medical personal immediately transported him to the Western Arizona Regional Medical Center in Bullhead City, Ariz., where he is listed in critical condition.

The investigation revealed that after the child was struck, the suspect vehicle stopped briefly then fled the scene. A description of the driver is not available. The vehicle is described as a brown or gold colored SUV or pickup truck.
