LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- Hundreds of people are looking to apply for medical marijuana business licenses, but just a few dozen licenses will be granted.
Many of those potential business owners were at a meeting Friday to learn more about the stringent application process.
Friday's medical marijuana symposium focused on Clark County's pre-application process as well as state regulations.
There is no shortage of people looking for information on how to open a medical marijuana business in Clark County.
The regulations are complicated and require a long list of supporting documents, like financial data, a background check, business plans, and the location of the proposed facility.
Hopeful medical marijuana business owners packed the meeting to learn more about those and other details that would help with the application process.
"The most challenging part is putting everything together and understanding the regulations and being able to respond to those," said dispensary applicant Ed Uehling.
"The symposium today's got a lot of experts to help us out to expedite this, so this has been a really good facility for us to be able to get this done by the deadline," said dispensary applicant Thomas Adler.
The last day to apply for a medical marijuana business in Clark County is April 22.
