LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) —
A public forum on local medical marijuana regulations Wednesday night drew such a large crowd that dozens who wanted to get in were turned away.
The meeting on licensing and zoning was the first of two the city of Las Vegas has planned. The discussion centered around a 38-page regulation draft that is already sparking concern.
The proposed regulations include:
- Security requirements that include a minimum of three security guards and 24-hour surveillance.
- No infused products can look like candy, gum, or other things that would attract children.
City officials emphasized that this is just a draft. Ultimately, it will be up to the City Council to decide what regulations to put in place.
The next meeting is at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the city’s Development Services Center, 333 N. Rancho. Also, there will be a town hall meeting at 6 p.m. April 22 at Las Vegas City Hall.
