(KOB) Homeless preschool children living in Albuquerque, New Mexico took cameras home recently to document 24 hours of their lives.

"It is a great project because we never know what the other side is we don't know what home looks like," says teacher Briana Sais.

The project puts a face on an Albuquerque problem.

"Families who are homeless are often invisible because they don't want to be seen," explains Angela Merkert, Executive Director of Cuidando Los Ninos.

Right now 11,000 children are considered homeless in Albuquerque and one in three homeless children will have a major mental disorder by age eight.
