Police say a former Los angeles policeman has gone on a murderous rampage, and is now a threat to all law enforcement in southern California.

They are using all available manpower to hunt down former policeman Christopher Dorner, who is suspected of killing three people and injuring two others.

The massive man hunt spans across several southern California police jurisdictions.

It began when Dorner recently filed a manifesto on Facebook, where he claimed he was treated unfairly when he was fired from the Los Angeles Police Department in 2008 for making false statements.

"He communicated in this manifesto that police were fair game, and their families," says Riverside Police Chief Sergio Diaz.

On Sunday the daughter of Dorner's attorney in his dismissal was murdered, along with her fianc?.

Dorner is the prime suspect in the killings.

He is also suspected of shooting to death a Corona policeman around 1:30 Thursday morning.

Shortly after that police say he ambushed two Riverside officers as they stopped at a traffic light.

One officer was killed, the other critically injured.

"He knows what he's doing," warns LAPD Chief Charlie Beck. "We trained him and he was also in the armed forces. It is extremely worrisome and scary."

Dorner's police and military training have police on high alert and taking no chances.

"We're going to find him," Diaz promised. "You can't have this many people looking for you and not be found".

Police say they have more than a thousand officers involved in the manhunt.

Dorner was last seen driving a dark gray, four-door Nissan Titan pickup.

Police say if Dorner or his vehicle is spotted the public should call 911, but do not approach him.
