CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — After weeks of battling Ebola, a North Carolina missionary is planning to talk publicly for the first time about her fight to survive the deadly virus.

Nancy Writebol and her husband, David, will hold a news conference Wednesday at SIM USA's headquarters just south of Charlotte.

It comes one day after the group announced that an American doctor treating obstetrics patients at its charity hospital in Monrovia, Liberia, has tested positive for Ebola.

The 59-year-old Writebol has been with her husband at an undisclosed location since her release Aug. 19 from Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, where she was kept in isolation.

The couple left their home last year for missionary work at a clinic in Liberia.

At the clinic, Nancy Writebol's duties included disinfecting staff entering or leaving the Ebola treatment area.
