WASHINGTON -- President Obama was on Capitol Hill for the second day in a row Wednesday, meeting with House Republicans over the budget crisis.

The president says he is trying to find common ground between Democrats and Republicans, and after this meeting he is somewhat encouraged.

"It was good," Mr. Obama said afterward. "I enjoyed it. It was useful."

Some Republicans at the meeting agreed.

"Today was a good start," said House Speaker John Boehner. "Even though we have very real differences, our job is to find common ground to do work the American people sent us here to do."

Meanwhile, the Senate budget committee released it's proposed plan.

"This budget fully replaces the cuts from sequestration that threaten 750,000 jobs this year alone and economic growth for years to come," said Senator Patty Murray.

Republicans are pushing for a balanced budget in ten years by repealing Obamacare and cutting various domestic programs.

Democrats say it's the same Romney/Ryan proposal voters rejected in November.

The president says the GOP plan guts Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.

His budget proposal comes out the week of April 8th, several weeks later than expected.

The president will be back on Capitol Hill Thursday for a pair of private meetings with House Democrats and Senate Republicans.
