LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNew3) -- The countdown in Carson City continues and there are just 25 days left for lawmakers to get it all done.

Today some lobbyists are starting to speak out against speaker Marilyn Kirkpatrick's plan to tax entertainment.

News 3's capitol correspondent Mackenzie Warren has a report from our state's capital with more on the fallout. This proposed tax would change business for thousands all across our state.

Speaker Marilyn Kirkpatrick wants to put an 8 percent tax on all entertainment that requires a ticket or a fee to get in.

If this passes this means movie theaters, gyms, golf courses, sporting arenas and concert venues will be passing that 8 percent tax on to their customers.

It will also bring new taxes to big events like NASCAR and the Electric Daisy Carnival.
