LAS VEGAS -- Soon the world will turn its attention to London for the start of the summer games.
News 3 sports director Kevin West is here to introduce us to local track and field star Amanda Bingson who will be competing in the Olympics.
Bingson went to Silverado High School and she just finished her senior year at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Her story in the hammer throw is truly incredible. Bingson started throwing the hammer during her freshman year at UNLV.
Fast forward just four years and she is a two-time All-American headed to the Olympic Games. She says along with representing the United States, she is excited to go to London as a and representing Las Vegas.
