LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Authorities now say 14 people have been checked for smoke inhalation after a rooftop air conditioner fire at the Treasure Island resort on the Las Vegas Strip.
No serious injuries are reported, and Clark County spokeswoman Stacey Welling says no one has been taken to the hospital.
Welling says rooms on multiple floors were evacuated after the 9 a.m. Tuesday fire at the 36-story hotel, but smoke was heaviest on the top floor.
Hotel spokeswoman Michelle Knoll says that was the only floor evacuated.
Knoll has conflicting reports about how many guests left their rooms in the nearly 2,900-room resort, and how many people were being checked by medical personnel.
The hotel spokeswoman is disputing reports that smoke got into the ventilation system from the 24th to the 36th floors.
