LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- The worst disaster in southern Nevada took place 32 years ago today when a fire at the MGM Hotel took 85 lives and sent hundreds more to the hospital.

News 3'sTom Hawley was a student at UNLV at the time and saw this fire in person.
