Well, I agree with Cody. Plus you guys should've interviewed people from that class not Freshman who don't even take history yet because everyone in the period that it took place knows what the student and teacher were doing and he wasn't the only one to wear a costume pertaining to the project. I think the next people you guys should interview were people who were in the period and see what they have to say.

I am also a former student of this teacher at LVA. He is without a doubt one of the best teachers I have had in High School. He is passionate about teaching and always engages his students and brings history to life in the classroom. I think it is shameful that CCSD is going to discipline him for doing what many teachers in CCSD don't do, actually teach! In my class a few years ago, we had a student to did Hitler and through his presentation understood better the horrors of the Holocaust and felt greater understanding and compassion of what the Jews, Gypsys, Gays, Jehovah's Witnesses and his other victims endured. His teaching style really impacts his students. He is demanding and except for a few lazy students who wanted to be given a grade, I have NEVER met a student who does not hold this teacher in the highest regard. CCSD is lucky to have a teacher like him. I am sure this would not have been an issue if the student had kept the lesson in its proper context in the classroom and the media not blown it up!

Let’s all band together in support of this teacher. I have listed things that students, parents, teachers and anyone else who knows him can do to show their support of this amazing history teacher. Hopefully enough of us will actually do these things and create such an impact that this matter will be put to rest and he can continue to teach for years to come. 1) Write letters in support of this teacher to the following: a) Principal Scott Walker, Las Vegas Academy; b) Dr. Linda E. Sahara Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89146; d) The Editor of the Review Journal (Go to reviewjournal.com and email your letter); 2) Make phone calls to their offices: a) Scott Walker (702) 799-7800; b) Dr. Linda Young (702) 799-1072; c) Superintendent Dwight Jones (702) 799-5311; 3) Attend the next School Board meeting scheduled on Thursday 01/24/2013 at 4:00 pm. Meetings are at the Edward A. Greer Education Center, 2832 E. Flamingo Road. You can call 799-1072 to sign up or you can sign up in person just prior to the meeting. You get 2 minutes to speak. Voice your support of this teacher in person directly to the board.; 4) Arrange a protest outside of LVA after school with support signs (must be done on the public sidewalk, not on the school grounds.) Notify the media so they can show up and broadcast it. That should make an impact.; 5) Post support comments online anywhere and everywhere you can. Use all of your social media connections to get this message out to everyone you know. This needs to be done immediately because from what I have learned, besides the local and national media jumping all over this, there are Community Activist Groups (you can figure out which ones) involved calling for harsh disciplinary action against him. Things after happening quickly so the quicker we respond the better.
