LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- Grocery store chain Albertsons was sold earlier this week.

Now loyal shoppers want to know what does this mean for my neighborhood store. The future of Albertsons employees and stores rests in the hands of the new owner.

News 3's Marissa Mike live at the Albertsons with a report.

Fortunatel, there is no news about job cuts. Shoppers say they hope a change in ownership means cheaper food prices and positive changes within the stores.

Albertsons sold for $3.3 billion earlier this week and $3.2 billion of that amount was for debt assumption.

News 3 confirmed there were corporate representatives already here this morning evaluating the stores and analyzing prices.
Albertsons reps say they're looking for ways to build a stronger experience for their customers.

The sale comes less than a year after major layoffs were made. In June more than 2,000 employees were laid off at Albertsons stores in southern Nevada and southern California. Though Albertsons says there are no layoffs expected, customers say they hope history doesn't repeat itself.
